Mentorship as a Way of Uniting People Together: Vladimir Zaglada’s Human Mission

By Coach Vlad

One of the strangest words that I have ever heard is when someone says they are self-made men or women. I understand what they are saying, but no one reaches success on their own accord in reality. If you examine every successful person, you will find that they all have something in common. They all have had mentors in their life. Truly successful people understand the power of mentorship, and Coach Vladimir Zaglada is no different. His experience being a coach or a mentor to the American kids has made huge differences to himself and the people around him.

Coach Zaglada’s book ‘One Coach’s Journey from East to West’ discussed the roots of Soviet Gymnastics and explained what happened since the Soviet Sports Machine collapsed. He made this book solely based on his experience of being a coach or a mentor. According to him, his relationship with the American coaches gave him a wonderful opportunity to completely show his whole coaching skills and pedagogical abilities.

As an emphasis on his human mission of helping people stay together, he has created multiple originally-produced books, websites, documentaries, videos, and advertisements entitled ‘The Zaglada Times,’ all focusing on his teaching mission.

Through all these efforts, he aims to contribute to a better world and, at the same time, eliminate such differences among people. This simply shows how mentorship could reach great lengths to fill people with knowledge in pursuit of unity.

Playful Creative Poetry about Gymnastics: On Gymmy the Owl and His Friends

By Coach Vlad

As most people would perceive, Gymnastics is a challenging kind of sport that requires rigorous training to be a participant. Usually, great gymnasts start training early – the younger, the better. During childhood, our bodies are still flexible and open to get conditioned for any routine. This is one reason why gymnastics programs are now being offered as an extracurricular activity or for summer classes even to primary students.

Written by Vladimir Zaglada, “Gymmy the Owl and His Friends” is a book published in reaching young aspiring gymnasts through an entertaining and engaging collection of poetry perfect for young aspiring gymnasts to read. It shares an animal-friendly story that started with Gymmy the Owl and his friends discovering each of the skills essential in doing basic gymnastics.

Readers of any age will be drawn in by his parallels between animals’ natural abilities and the skills humans must work hard to develop to perform gymnastics features. Gymmy the Owl makes learning fun by following each humorous rhymed tale with a small dose of important information and key gymnastics terminology. Illustrator Katya Korobkina brings to life a charming community of “Nature’s Gymnasts.” Indeed, the book creates such a delight to encourage young aspiring gymnasts to see that there is blissful fulfillment for their accomplishment in the learning process beyond gymnastics. Standing Together in the World: Vladimir Zaglada’s Mission in Writing Books

By Coach Vlad

by Cianna Reese, Universal Breakthrough Magazine

Upon discovering the works and life of Vladimir Zaglada, I learned about his human mission, “to help people stay together amidst differences and crisis.” The Culture and Sports Education is one key in creating possibilities for this unity. Coach Zaglada’s almost 50 years of life is devoted to artistic gymnastics’ theory and practice, including coaching and consultant for the senior and junior Soviet women’s and girl’s gymnastics teams, assisting in their preparation for the World and Olympic competition. As a teacher or mentor, you’ll see how he values his former students and proud of where they are now.

You will learn more about his mentorship journey through his first book, “One Coach’s Journey from East to West.” The content of the book is based on real experience and thoughts from the author. Coach Zaglada will always be grateful to the US Government for giving USSR teachers, coaches, and owners of gymnastics clubs to teach American kids – everything is friendly and optimistic. He is mostly teaching the coaches as a pedagogical mentor of BIO Gymnastics &Athletics Unlimited (Cumming, GA).

Meanwhile, his second book “Gymmy the Owl and His Friends,” brings delight to rhymed poetry and gymnastics lovers. It aims to reach young children and parents through an entertaining and amusing poem with implied information about gymnastics. Interestingly, this book’s creativity also showcased the parallel connections of animals’ natural abilities and human skills—the same dynamics of developing hard work and practice to perform gymnastics acts.

WE ARE NOT REQUIRING MASKS IN OUR FACILITIES.  We believe in self-governance.  If you would like your child to wear a mask or you wear a mask when you come, we support you!  If you choose not to wear a mask or not send your child with a mask, we support you! We do continue to follow guidelines provided to us from the state of Georgia and the CDC.  To that end, our current processes include the following:

  1.  Screening and evaluating workers who exhibit signs of illness, such as a fever over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, cough, or shortness of breath; We are not routinely taking temperatures;
  2. Requiring workers who exhibit signs of illness to not report to work or to seek medical attention;
  3. Continued disinfecting of common surfaces regularly;
  4. THE PARENT ROOM IS CLOSED TO GENERAL VIEWING. There are only two excpetions to this rule – if the child is participating in a trial class and young children under 4. Only one parent/guardian bring a child to their class to allow those who wish to social distance the ability to do so.  Masks for parents and staff are optional.
  5. We will continue to have our team drop off be at the door to the far left of the front entrance. Class children can be dropped off at the main entrance.
  6. Parents should continue to pick up at the back of the building. NO PARENTS ARE ALLOWED ON THE GYMNASTICS FLOOR!

FALL BREAK IS ON THE RADAR :)

By Important News

When the girls were little and a trip or event was on the 4 week planner of our refrigerator, we would say that it was “On the Radar”.  Now, Fall Break is on the radar, scheduled for the week of September 21 – 25, 2020.  As we are settling into the school year, we wanted to continue to update you on things that we are doing with regards to COVID.

Fun Day Camps

We will continue to offer fun day camps during the school year, especially during Fall Break and in-service days.  Currently, all of our students are either in-home learning or face-to-face learning so we do not have anyone in camp at this time.  However, if we need to pivot and offer camps due to more on-line learning, we are prepared. This will be set up similarly to how we ran camps when we first shut down.  We will have dedicated computer stations for our campers, as well as table space for students who bring in their own technology.  We will be limiting camp to 15 at this time and it is based on a first come, first serve.

After School Pick Up

We are offering after school pick up to select schools close to the gym. Please contact our front office at 770-844-0246 for more information.

The Year of Mondays

By Get a Grip, Important News

This year has been described as ‘The Year of Mondays’ and ‘Level 7 of Jumanji’ to name a few. It has been unprecedented.  As a small business owner, we got our legs knocked out from under us as we went from slowing down to full stop.  Losing half of our income without warning was quite a shock.  And yet, we survived with a lot of help from our friends and a dependence on our faith.

The BIO Family truly came together in support of us.  It was amazing and overwhelming at the same time. They continued to support us as we pivoted to online classes and navigated through this thing called COVID.  This single act of kindness from the parents allowed us to stay in business.  Then, on Divine Mercy Sunday, we received some other good news that let us know God was not done with us!

BIO Gymnastics is a family-owned, faith-based business.  When we talk about raising champions in and out of the gym, we mean our training and influence goes beyond winning.  We care for our all the children and strive to provide a fun and safe environment.  We teach them about serious fun and help them to develop a strong work ethic.  While things have slowed down, we have not.  Our staff has worked to keep the gym clean and safe.  We have taken CPR training, safety certifications and positive coaching courses to stay at the top of our game so we can continue to support our amazing BIO community.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank all of you for being part of our lives and if your child attends BIO, for letting us be part of yours.  If you are not part of the BIO Gymnastics family and would like more information, please contact our office or visit our website.
